I feel a little bit dirty for owning, this, so I'll just make the excuses now, and it all circles around the last track of the album, "I've Had The Time of My Life" Insert brackets where appropriate, I can't be bothered.
When the song was released waaaay back, it used to be played on the radio all of the time. I liked it, and taped a copy off the radio (as you do when you're 9). I wouldn't say I played it constantly, but I played it enough to get familiarised with the song. A year or two later, a friend went up in the technological world, and his parents owned a CD player ( a novel item back in the day) One of the albums owned was the original "Dirty Dancing" soundtrack.
As I liked the afore-mentioned song, it got played, and, this was the first time in my life I'd ever noticed such jarring edits in a song. Where was the full instrumental? The trumpet bit? Argh, it was horrible! Cut to ribbons.
It confused me. If the CD was the future
