During the life of the "Teesside Development Corporation", they recorded some adverts, in the form of specially written songs to advertise the achievements they'd made. This is still one of the more memorable of them. For someone who was a teenager, listening to local radio, day in, day out, some of those jingles stuck in your mind. And for that reason, someone, somewhere, thought it would be a great idea to mix this, with Middlesbrough Football Club, singing the song's tagline "We are Teesside, we're the future, we're the pride". Maybe they were having a really good season in the football game? Was this the year that Middlesbrough made it to the FA cup final? I could probably look it up, but that requires effort.
The radio mix is the original jingle, and the last track is the much less successful follow-up jingle, not as catchy, and I'd totally forgotten about it until I heard it again, whereas the original track had been stuck in there for almost 20 years.
